Biennale Democrazia (Torino, 2023)
In March 2023, we had the chance to talk about Shared Religious Places in the framework of Biennale Democrazia 2023 (Turin, 22-26 March) together with Matilde Cassani and Simona Malvezzi (KUEHN MALVEZZI). The discussion has been rich and fruitful and saw great participation from a very diverse audience. The debate concerned the architectural and urban dimension of freedom of worship in cities and particularly the House of One project by the architectural firm KUEHN MALVEZZI. The topic shed light on the architectural type of the multi-faith building which nowadays is a possible answer to the needs of a “super-diverse” population. This is a familiar theme in Turin where the project of the first Italian multi-faith building (Casa delle Religioni) was initiated in 2016 and is currently on hold.
